This week I decided to turn to the savory side of things, opting to go with egg white spinach cups. At only 48 calories apiece, I had to give these little treats a go. The ingredients seemed simple enough, and there definitely was room in this recipe to experiment and put your own twist on the ingredients used.
So anyone who knows me, knows I am a terrible cook, therefore I always get a teeny bit nervous when trying new things. However, this recipe is so simple and easy to do it is recommended for anyone. This recipe I found was from a website called www.showmetheyummy.com/healthy-egg-muffin-cups/, and they have a number of different healthy recipes on their, each sounding super delicious.
The prep time for these was next to nothing, once the veggies where cooked in the skillet all that was left to do was grease up the muffin tray and add the rest of the components into the muffin cases. After this, set the time for around 15 minutes, and boom done, couldn’t be any simpler. This means that if you’re in a rush, no problem you can whip these up in a jiffy, and if not pre make a batch as these are freezer friendly.
These snacks are great for any time of the day, but honestly are best served as a morning pick me up. Packed with all the goodness that comes from eggs and veggies, these make for an ideal replacement for the starch and carbs most people are used to consuming as their morning snack.
